A.
Toastmasters will help you with all forms of presentation.  Most people rarely say
formal speeches, but the confidence gained in learning how to do so provides an

place.  These are all forms of public speaking.
Another form of public speaking is job interviews.
Toastmasters helps with all forms of public speaking.

Q.  Do you need any experience to join Toastmasters?
A.  No.  The Toastmasters personal development program caters for people so they
can start at any level.  If you have never spoken in public you'll learn how and gain
enormous confidence.  If you are already speaking or presenting, you will learn to          become better and much more polishe

Q.  Is there a minimum age for Toastmasters?
A.  Yes.  Members must be at least 18 years of age, but this can be waived if you need

Q.  How often do Toastmasters meet?
A.  Fleurieu Toastmasters meet once a month - on the
fourth Monday of each month.

Q.  What is Table Topics?
A.  Table Topics is a popular session at a Toastmaster meeting.  The presenter
introduces a topic for discussion and calls upon the member to express their ideas.

You have as long as it takes you to stand and push your chair into the table to
collect your thoughts and deliver a coherent 60 second speech.
It is a fantastic way of honing your impromptu speaking skills.

Q.  How often do members have to give speeches?
A.  Members progress through structured speech manuals at their own pace.
Giving anywhere between five and ten speeches a year is normal.
When you are not doing a speech you will likely be given another role at a
meeting.  This could be anything from timekeeper to MC or Chairman.

Q.  Is everyone at Toastmasters a good speaker?
A.  Not at all.  At Toastmasters you will hear people who are experienced speakers
and people who are raw and nervous beginners.  When you talk to the experienced
members they will tell you that they were once also very raw, not that long ago.
